User account settings

How to manage your personal settings in Huma

Table of Contents

What are User account settings?

Account settings are personal preferences that apply only to your own account, and they do not affect other users in your organisation. You can access them by clicking your profile picture in the top right corner and selecting "User account settings".

💡 Administrators cannot configure account settings on behalf of employees. Each employee must update their own settings.

Language

You can change the language of the Huma interface to your preferred language.

  1. Navigate to your name in the top right corner
  2. Click "User account settings"
  3. Select your preferred language next to "Language"

💡 Changing the language only affects the system interface,  not user-generated content such as news articles, documents or free-text fields. Emails sent from Huma will also remain in their original language.

Week starts on

You can choose whether your week starts on Monday or Sunday. This affects how calendars and date pickers are displayed in Huma.

  1. Navigate to your name in the top right corner
  2. Click "User account settings"
  3. Select your preferred day next to "Week starts on"

Birthday visibility

You can control whether your birthday is visible to other employees on the dashboard.

Option What it means
Visible Your birthday jubilee is shown on the dashboard to everyone
Hidden Your birthday jubilee is only visible to yourself and administrators. Administrators will be made aware that you do not want any public attention on your birthday.

To update your setting:

  1. Navigate to your name in the top right corner
  2. Click "User account settings"
  3. Find "Your birthday jubilee"
  4. Choose "Visible" or "Hidden"

💡 When a new user account is created, the birthday visibility is set to hidden by default. The employee must actively choose "Visible" if they want their birthday to appear on the dashboard.

⚠️ Your work anniversary is always visible to everyone on the dashboard and cannot be hidden.

⚠️ System administrators can always see everyone's birthdays on the dashboard, regardless of the visibility setting

Birthday push notifications

If the Jubilees module is enabled in your organisation, Huma sends push notifications about birthdays to the Huma mobile app.

  • Notifications are sent on weekdays at 9 AM.
  • Only birthdays set to Visible are included.
  • You can disable birthday notifications in your notification settings.

Examples of notifications:

  • "Sindre has birthday today "
  • "Sindre and Sondre have birthday today "
  • "4 people have birthday today "
  • Happy birthday (if it’s your own birthday)

Movable modals

When enabled, you can move pop-up windows around the screen by dragging them. Double-click a modal to reset it to its default position.

  1. Navigate to your name in the top right corner
  2. Click "User account settings"
  3. Toggle "Movable modals" on or off
