Name and domain
Your organisation's display name appears throughout Huma and on invoices.
- Go to System settings
- Navigate to "General"
- Click "Change" next to "Name"
- Update the name and click "Save"
Logo
Your company logo appears in the top menu bar and in documents created in Huma.
- Go to System settings
- Navigate to "General"
- Click "Upload logo" next to "Logo"
- Upload your logo file
💡 The logo space is 200px × 40px. We recommend uploading an SVG or a @3x PNG for the best quality. The maximum ratio is 5:1 and the logo will not be stretched if you upload a smaller version. You can always replace or delete the logo at any time.
Login methods
You can control how employees log in to Huma. The following login methods are available:
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| One-time password via email | Employees receive a one-time code by email to log in |
| Employees log in with their Google account | |
| Microsoft | Employees log in with their Microsoft account |
| SSO integrations | If your organisation has set up an SSO integration (e.g. Okta, Entra ID or Auth0), it will also appear here as a login method |
💡 You can enable multiple login methods at the same time. SSO integrations are configured under Integrations in System settings.

Unique employment IDs
You can choose whether employment IDs must be unique across your organisation. This is especially useful if you use integrations where the same ID is referenced.
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Huma validates the employment ID whenever it is added or edited to ensure it is unique |
| Disabled | Huma does not validate employment IDs — duplicates are allowed |
To edit settings:
- Go to System settings
- Navigate to "General"
- Scroll to "Misc" and click "Change"
- Toggle the setting and click "Save"
Domain verification
Domain verification lets employees register themselves as Huma users simply by logging in, without needing a manual invitation from an administrator. Once you verify your company domain (for example company.com), anyone with an email address on that domain can create their own user account the first time they log in.
What happens when an employee self-registers:
- A profile is created with their first name, last name and email address only
- No team, location or other information is added automatically
- No notification is sent to administrators when a new profile is created
💡 Administrators should be aware of the size of their organisation before enabling domain verification, as new users can register without any admin action.
⚠️ When to be careful with domain verification:
- If you have already invited employees manually, some employees may end up with duplicate profiles, one from the invitation and one from self-registration. This can happen if an employee uses a different email alias to log in.
- If you want full control over who gets access to Huma and what information is on their profile, manual invitations are safer.
- Domain verification is best suited for organisations where all employees share the same email domain and you are comfortable with employees registering themselves.
To set up domain verification:
- Go to System settings
- Navigate to "Domain verification"
- Click "Add" and follow the instructions to verify your domain
FAQ
Can I have multiple login methods active at the same time?
Yes. You can enable more than one login method — for example both Google and one-time password — so employees can choose how they log in.
What happens if I change my organisation name?
The new name will appear throughout Huma immediately. Your invoice name is updated separately under Subscription.
What logo format should I use?
We recommend SVG or a @3x PNG for the sharpest result. The logo area is 200px × 40px with a maximum ratio of 5:1.
What happens when a user with a verified domain logs in for the first time?
A Huma account is automatically created for them. They do not need to be invited manually.
