Document styles
Create more structured and polished documents with support for smart document styles. Choose from multiple fonts and set a standard style for your company’s documents.
As a document styles administrator, you can create different style options for your document admins to choose from, and set a default style for your company.
Roles
To manage Document style, the user needs a "System role with full access to Documents: Smart templates and styles."

How to set up document styles
To manage Document styles and create a new one, you will need a System role as mentioned above.

Go to the "Document module"

Navigate to the "Styles" tab
- Click "Add document style"
- Choose whether you want to set it as the default
- Give the style a name
- Select text density
- Choose matching or different fonts for each heading and title
- When you’re done, click "Create" to add the new style and view it in the styles overview

How to use document styles
Once a document style is created, everyone in your Huma account can use it. If they don’t select a specific style, the one set as "Default" will be applied automatically.
- Go to the "Document module"
- Click "Add document" and "Create a smart document"
- Choose template. fill out details and click "Continue"
- Fill out document name, description, category and regarding and click on "Document style" to select and already excisting style
- Some styles will show "Lacking support for italic in PDFs." This means that when generating PDFs from documents using this style, italic text in one or more fonts will be displayed as unformatted text.
- Click "Done" and the created document will now use the selected document style
💡If multiple styles are available, any user with “See and edit” access to a document can switch the document to a different style at any time.
- Go to the document
- Click "Document settings"
- Scroll down to "Document style" and change to another style
- Generated PDFs from the previous style version will not be changed
Edit document styles
To change a document style, you will need a system role as mentioned in the "Roles" section.
- Go to the "Document module"
- Navigate to the "Styles tab"
- Click on the three dots located to the right of the style
- Click "Edit document style"
- Do your edits, and click "Done" when finish

Delete document styles
To delete a document style, you will need a system role as mentioned in the "Roles" section.
- Go to the "Document module"
- Navigate to the "Styles tab"
- Click on the three dots located to the right of the style
- Click "Delete"
- Confirm the delete
- This action cannot be undone
