When Two HR Professionals Needed to Get a Handle on 145 Employees
The two people in the HR department are HR Manager Celin Frølich Lund and HR & Graduate Recruiter Nora Kristine Frebergsvik. They handle the challenging task of supporting around 145 colleagues at the IT consulting company Forte Digital. When they were tasked with choosing a new HR system, they selected Huma. We had a chat with them about their experiences with the implementation and how they use Huma.
A Need for Simplification and Greater Control
When we asked why Forte Digital felt the need for an HR system, the answer was simple. "We were using Teams and SharePoint for most things and only had a payroll system — no dedicated HR system," say Celin and Nora. They explained that they needed a tool to simplify managing everything related to the connection between employees and the workplace. They also wanted to gather information and streamline the administrative aspects of employees' workdays. That's no surprise when there are just two people responsible for all this for 145 employees in Norway.
The need arose from a desire to create more independence for HR, managers, and employees. They elaborate that they needed better access control for employee-related data and wanted to provide managers with improved access to contribute to onboarding and offboarding processes.
Choosing Huma was quite straightforward. “We looked into other options, but found none that met our needs besides Huma — it was kind of Huma or nothing,” Celin and Nora explain.
There are many reasons for this choice. Usability for both management and employees was one of the most important factors. Good access control, a dedicated mobile app, and the modules — especially onboarding and offboarding — were also highlighted as key reasons. The handbook stands out as particularly useful during onboarding. “The handbook is worth its weight in gold. It has saved us a lot of time as an HR department. The search functions make it easy for employees to find the right information,” Celin and Nora add 💆🏽♀️

From Day One — A Smoother Everyday Experience for Admins and Employees
Choosing a new HR system is a crucial decision, and knowing that the system you choose is right for your company's needs is a major advantage. Celin and Nora explain: “The implementation of Huma was straightforward, but we spent a lot of time testing it among ourselves, with managers, and with employees to ensure we made the right choice.”
They also note that they received excellent support throughout the entire purchasing process, with ongoing communication both before and after the implementation of their new HR system.
The results prove that the thorough testing was worth it. New hires become part of the environment in record time, and getting them into the system takes just minutes, allowing them to use the system from day one. Other employees also enjoy a smoother workday with easy access to useful information, which means fewer questions and more time for culture-building. “The implementation of Huma has allowed the HR team to focus on what really matters — the people we work with!” 🫱🏾🫲🏼
“The system makes the workday simpler and more enjoyable for employees, managers, and us in HR.”
New hires aren’t usually the only ones you deal with at work. There are also other employees, and HR work doesn’t stop at onboarding. “The system makes the workday simpler and more enjoyable for employees, managers, and us in HR,” the HR team concludes. And what could be better than a useful tool that makes the workday more fun? Not much, if you ask us 🤠
